Basic First Aid

The goal of this course is to teach students to recognize medical emergencies and to provide Basic First Aid intervention in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Describe steps in providing care in any emergency
• Understand the components of First Aid Kit
• Assess and provide first aid care to victims with bleeding and wounds
• Assess and provide first aid care to victims with shock and burns
• Assess and provide first aid care to victims with poisoning or allergic reactions
• Assess and provide first aid care to chocking victims
• Assess and provide first aid care to victims with exposure to extreme temperatures (heat and cold)
• Assess and provide first aid care to victims with musculoskeletal as well as eye injuries
• Assess and provide first aid care to victims with head and spine injuries
